Ashton is a highschool senior at BASIS Scottsdale. He's been active in local Democratic politics since he was in eight grade. Ashton cares deeply about climate change and civil rights. Ashton is excited to expand AZHSD and broaden our reach for 2024. In his free time, he enjoys painting, baking, and listening to music. In the future, Ashton might want to be a lawyer or work in community organizing.

Sasha Anand

Sasha works with a local nonprofit AZ Voter to canvas across Arizona, and actively works with local schools and community colleges across the state to register new voters. Additionally, she speaks at various events across the state to encourage other teens to become civically engaged. Sasha is passionate about women’s rights, educational policy and voting rights. In the future Sasha wants to study digital marketing and law. In her free time Sasha loves to photograph sports, paint and watch movies with her friends.

Jesmina has interned with local campaigns including campaigns in CD-01 and CD-03. Jesmina is a strong advocate for education, social, and environmental policy--especially through her research on equity for POC. Jesmina is ready to unite a coalition of high school students to elect democrats. In Jesmina’s free time you can catch her on the basketball court, blasting music in her car, or buying a coffee. In the future Jesmina intends on working in DC to continue working in politics.

Bri Blair

Bri Blair is a rising junior from Goodyear, AZ. She is excited to help organize AZ teens for this election season. Bri has a passion for government, politics, and civic education, and hopes to one day become an elected official! She has worked with the Democratic Party in many Arizona districts, such as LDs 25 & 29. Bri is also the founder of HerGov, an organization dedicated to getting more teen girls educated in civics & involved in local politics! Outside of politics, Bri loves to read, create friendship bracelets, and hike!

Kavya Sud

Kavya is a junior in the IB program at Desert Mountain High School and the Policy Director for 2024-2025. From a young age she’s been interested advocacy, introduced into activism through feminist work. She is proud to be the co-founder and president of the She’s the First Club at her school as well as the Vice President of the Girl Up Arizona Coalition. Outside of political work, she enjoys writing, reading, and speech and debate. She is really looking forward to begin working with the Arizona chapter of High School Democrats. Kavya hopes to one day go into public policy.

Nithish is the Political Director for 2024-2025. He has volunteered with local campaigns for more than 2 years now in the competitive legislative districts like LD4 and LD2. Nithish cares about education, reproductive freedom, and climate change. Nithish is excited to work with like-minded high school students across the valley. In his free time, Nithish likes to read, play pickleball, and eat. In the future, he looks to pursue a career in healthcare or public health.
